FRIDAY NIGHT - A VISITOR

The kingfisher
is right outside the window - what a treat

FRIDAY Last day of spring

everyone's chilling out today, despite the fact that the temperature is 10 deg less than yesterday but still bloody hot -  and humid because it's been trying to rain but just nothing much happening.

but brendan the new water guy came out this afternoon and i'm putting an automatic watering system in place around the house.  and i went shopping  . . .   nothing like a bit of retail therapy :o)

LOOK WHAT I GOT!

My first purchase as a prospective granny -  the cutest little 6 month old ugg boots,
softest lambswool for my little grandbaby and 'emu' brand,  sayaka will love that
:0)

GOOD AND STINKING

THURSDAY i spent the day in the art vault printing
again, thank god for the air conditioning, i heard it was 48 somewhere,
44 was the official top.  we headed off to dinner at the end of the
day - i didn't want to get in my car till it had a chance
to cool down.
by the time we got out after 7.30 a dust storm was starting,
these pics are taken over about 10 minutes, by which time i'd
ducked into the cinema to watch james bond again to escape
the heat and dust.
it had settled by the time i got out and light rain was trying
to hit the ground - just enough to settle the dust
but it was still a very hot and steamy night

it was a gorgeous night on the river,
also a full moon

PUMPING 'EM OUT

A beautiful morning

WEDNESDAY
at the Art Vault

a good day of printing, first a swim at 7 a.m. before it got too hot - about 37 deg here today.

spending a day  printing felt
like a luxury, after up and down times it's good to feel like there's some structure coming back. the water guy also rang and will call by to look at the watering system on friday.

IT'S just a rusty old
 hub cap sitting
on a bit of terracotta pipe but the
birds all love the birdbath outside
the window.

THE LOCH

THERE'S LIGHTNING
on the horizon, and thunder rumbling in the distance - it never seems to turn into
 rain though.

i see my loch photos didn't make it onto yesterday's
blog - don't know what happened there, but here
it is, it looks beautiful lit
 up at night.

BOND - JAMES BOND

FILM REVIEW

The new James Bond film 'Skyfall' is a ripper - probably the best i've seen - i only have sean connery's
bond films to compare it with, never watched roger moore or pierce brosnan.

fabulous locations - it's worth watching just to see the motorbike chase through the grand bazaar in
istanbul.  also shot in london, shanghai and macau - spectacularly photographed.   daniel craig makes
an interesting aging and world weary bond, judi dench is good as always.
And it has a tense and gripping story,  HIGHLY RECOMMENDED :0)

whoops

don't know what happened to the typesetting on that previous entry -  sorry folks

WHAT A DAY

TODAY was my inaugural swim as a morning swimmer at the pool   $46 for a season ticket  -     a pretty good start to a hot day

THEN  i was confronted by this little mother, hiding out in the boot of my car.   what to do???   i trapped him in the glass part of my vintage vitamiser (great to find a new use for a classic appliance)  and threw him out into the garden.
but what about the rest of the car?    it's been thoroughly drenched in surface spray so if the spiders don't die, i probably will.

not as big as my hand, but it
felt like it     : 0 |

ang, harry and ruby at home
 in gol gol

 -  i'm using ang and harry as models for an illustration i'm doing - they live on a lovely piece of land lush with thick green grapevines.
the visit was just a treat - and i got to see the new kittens charlie and . . . . i've forgotten the other name and to meet harry, ruby and lola.

new kitten,

HOME ALONE

SUNDAY 25th

I dropped janeen at the airport for a 10 o'clock flight and did a bunnings run for lots of hose fittings on the way home. it's going to be hot all week,in fact i think it's going to be hot till april  -  gotta get the garden sorted.

it's nice to be here alone, for
the first time i feel free to
do some artwork without
feeling like there are a 100
other things to think about.
the fan's on and it's good.

janeen took a few nice river pics  while she was here, love the scrabbly branches above

COME UP AND SEE ME SOMETIME :0)

WORKING IN THE HEAT

FRIDAY NOV 23

it's hot today, probably around  35. janeen and i had a full day, a walk up to another section of river bank, amazing
old trees and a new view.

then home to work on our book project for a few hours, we surprised ourselves -
thought we'd go to the pub for a light lunch then realised it was almost 3.

i took janeen down to meet everyone at Artback* where i had the amazing

PERSIAN LOVE CAKE

wow.

then we had a

SWIM IN THE POOL!!
fantastic

my nov/march season ticket cost me $46      *www.artbackaustralia.com.au

the tree trunks along the river are spectacular - i'd love to

paint them but i wouldn't know where to start
